  • Smith Podris

Smith is a multidisciplinary creative who first picked up a paintbrush to get out of her head while writing poetry. She soon became obsessed with color, texture, and how God works through both. Her art emerges from the thin spaces where the intangible becomes fleetingly tangible: birdsong, thunderstorms, the scent of rain, or the warmth of a hand. She paints near open windows and soft blankets, usually in clothes not meant for painting, until “just a few minutes and a couple of touches” turns into an entire afternoon.

A passion discovered later in life, his home studio now holds an impressive body of work spanning watercolor, acrylic, oil, and digital media, with projects ranging from local battlefields to national exhibits. Between commissions, cartoons, and the occasional portrait, Dale keeps history alive one illustration at a time.
